A great spot for sushi, ramen, or udon! It's usually busy due to its proximity to campus, but we were greeted warmly, and our food arrived quickly. The service was excellent. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive. The sushi was outstanding, making this one of my top favorites in Bloomington.
One of the best restaurants in ALL of Bloomington by far. The food is always prepared fresh, yet quickly. The service is very friendly and courteous, and the restaurant is kept quite clean (such as no flies flying around inside). They do have a basement to accommodate large groups, or if there is high demand for eat-in. Prices are quite good and relatively student friendly. Ideal location if you are a music student at IU. My personal favorite to get from here are the combination bento boxes. They're well priced - you can easily order multiple food items at once for the same price as one sushi roll. Bigger bang for your buck! The only thing I would say is stay away from their ramen, but that's only what I've heard from others. I haven't actually tried it myself, so I will still give this place 5 stars based off my own personal experience here. Ami is an absolute gem in Bloomington.
Ami is one of my favorite places for Sushi in Bloomington. Well priced and love the complimentary miso soup and ginger salad. Fast service.
The food is wonderful! The menu is extensive and everything looked amazing. My sisters and I came in for lunch and it was extremely busy. The service wasn't great, but I think it was due to how busy they were. The place isn't large and it seems like people stay for awhile. We tried a variety of things. I loved the potsticker appetizer and my flaming sushi roll.
I would consider this to be perfectly average Americanized Japanese food, which is perfectly tasty but has no special distinction. (As it happens, the owners are Korean, but I didn't try the Korean stuff since it would be a bit heavy for lunch.) I ate two meals here. The first was udon--the soup had a nice broth and the noodles had the right amount of chewiness. The second was one of the combos, the teriyaki and rice were both cooked perfectly. Miso soup was just average, salads (including kimchi) were very so-so.
